Mission

Urban diplomacy, in service of the community.

Dialogue Montréal is a pioneering non-profit organization specializing in the resolution of intergroup disputes. Its mission is to support social, institutional and community stakeholders in Greater Montréal in the collaborative search for solutions, by designing and facilitating tailored dialogue-mediation processes that unfold over the long term.

By acting as a neutral third party where the absence of financial incentives discourages private actors, the organization fills a systemic gap. Combining community ethics with tactical rigour, it facilitates difficult conversations, defuses lasting tensions and deploys genuine “urban diplomacy” to durably transform intergroup relations for the benefit of the community.

Services

Tailored processes for difficult conversations.

We bring our expertise in intergroup facilitation and mediation to the service of the community.

01

Intercultural dialogue and mediation

When cultural differences create tension or misunderstanding, a structured space for dialogue can turn an impasse into a starting point. We support groups and organizations through encounter processes that foster genuine mutual recognition, without erasing the differences present.

02

Group and team facilitation

A team is going through a transition, a disagreement persists, an important decision has to be made collectively. Sometimes a third party is needed for the conversation to truly take place. We facilitate workshops and working processes that help teams move forward together, even on difficult subjects.

03

Governance process facilitation

Good governance is more than well-written rules. It rests on decision-making processes that members understand and trust. We support boards of directors and committees in designing or revising their governance practices, so that decisions are made with clarity and legitimacy.

04

Citizen dialogue and public consultations

Consulting publics with diverging interests on sensitive issues takes more than a survey or a public meeting. We design and facilitate consultation processes that give citizens and stakeholders a real voice, while producing actionable results for decision-makers.
